Follow these 3 easy steps to get the fit you want from the t-shirt size charts below.
1. Lay your favorite fitting T-shirt flat on the table, smooth it so it has no wrinkles. Using a measuring tape or a yard stick, measure from left to right, one inch below the armpit. You now know the actual measurement of the width of your favorite fitting shirt.
2. Go to the appropriate age/gender Size Chart on this page and find the first grey row of numbers titled “Measure of Shirt 1″ Below the Armpit When Laid Flat”.
3. In this grey row, find the measure that is closest to your shirt’s measurement. From that square, follow the chart straight up, and you will find your corresponding size in the Men’s, Women’s, Youth or Toddler Sizes Row. If your measurement falls in between two sizes, select the bigger size.
Congratulations, you have used your own shirt to get the right size! If the size is not what you normally wear in a different brand, remember all brands make their sizes differently.
Be assured that this shirt will fit very close to how your favorite shirt fits.
If you know your chest size in inches:
1. Measure your chest in Inches.
2. In the left column choose the type of fit from Loose Fit, Regular Fit or Skin Tight Fit.
3. Then in the same horizontal row of your fit type, find your chest measure.
4. Directly above your chest measure, is your shirt size in the Men’s, Women’s, Youth or Toddler Sizes Row. If your measure is in between – it is important to go to the next size up!

Men’s Size Chart
The t-shirt size chart for male sun protection clothing has generous relaxed fit which aids the UV protection of the fabric. The model pictured below is wearing a Large Mens Long Sleeve Crew Neck. He is 5′ 10″, weighs 187 pounds and has a chest measurement of 42″. Our mens sizes are similar to Walmart or to Columbia.
All our mens apparel we sell follow the same men’s size guide below. Therefore an XL hooded tee fits the same as an XL crew neck, or an XL camo sleeve or an XL polo, etc. You can order companion styles with confidence.
Since the chest, waist and hips are the same measure in these shirts, we advise that you measure around the fullest part of the body to get the right fit.
Measurements for long and short sleeves, body length, chest, and shoulder width are also provided in the us t-shirt size chart for male apparel, (measured when the garment is laid flat).
No Tall Sizes
The oversized fit that we offer are not tall sizes. They are for average height, but heavy set men. Room in the shoulders are more and more generous as the sizes get larger.

Women’s Size Chart
Generally speaking, ladies tees have a waist a bit smaller than the chest and hips. This is a common sizing feature for women’s tees.
A men’s t-shirt typically has the same measure on the chest, waist and hips. At this time, CustomUPF.com only offers a V-neck style, and a polo in the Women’s cut with an “eased” waist.
Our women’s shirts fit a bit small to the Women’s Sizes that you might buy at a regular American department store. We recommend measuring a shirt in your closet that fits great, and using the 3 easy steps above to be certain of getting the right fit.
This Women’s Size Guide also feature measurements for long or short sleeve length, body length, and chest when the garment is flat.
Women Can Order from the Men’s Size Chart
Women in your group might want to order a crew neck style or a hooded sun shirt or fleece hoodie. Then we suggest they follow the 3rd row in the t-shirt size chart for female sun protection apparel above. This row has a teal colored block on the left, and the rest of the row is solid black with white letters. Specifically:
An XX-Small woman would buy a Youth Small.
An X-Small Woman would buy a Youth Medium.
A Small Women would buy an XS Mens Hooded T. She also would buy a Youth Large Long Sleeve Crew Neck because Mens Crew Neck does not have an XS.
A Medium Women would buy a Small Mens in any Mens style.
A Large Women would buy a Medium Mens in any Mens style.
A Extra Large Women would buy a Large Mens in any Mens style.
A 2X-Large Women would buy a Extra Large Mens in any Mens Style – however this will be a loose fit.
A 3X-Large Women Would buy an Extra Large Mens in any Mens Style – this would fit as expected.

For Youth, the size charts have measurements for the length of both long and short sleeve, shirt body length and the chest measurement, just below the armpits.
Youth Size Charts
Youth t-shirt sizes typically range from XS (Extra Small) to XL (Extra Large), but not all sizes come in all styles. Please confirm in the style sheet before ordering.
These sizes correspond to different age groups. These sizes are approximations as children’s growth can vary, so it’s important to consider the child’s height and weight when selecting the right size. To confirm, check the measurements of each size in the size chart against a shirt that fits well.
Size XS (Extra Small): Created for Youth aged 4-5 years.
Size S (Small): Generally, fits Youth aged 6-7 years.
Size M (Medium): Commonly worn by Youth aged 8-9 years.
Size L (Large): Designed for Youth aged 10-12 years.
Size XL (Extra Large): Suitable for Youth aged 13-15 years.

Youth Sizes Available in Various Styles
Many styles come in youth sizes: Fleece Hoodie, Fleece Sweatshirt, Fleece Quarter Zip, T-shirt with Hood, Long Sleeve Crew Neck, and Short Sleeve Crew Neck. Each Style has difference color options and different prices, but can be combined into your order to get discounts.
Toddler Size Charts
Sun Safety is very important for young children.
Sunburns on toddlers are particularly harmful because their delicate skin is much more sensitive to UV radiation, increasing the risk of painful burns, dehydration, and long-term skin damage. Early sun exposure without protection can also significantly raise the risk of skin cancer later in life.
Toddler sizes 2T, 3T, and 4T are designed to accommodate the growing bodies of young children, typically ranging from ages 2 to 4. The “T” in these sizes stands for “toddler,” indicating that the clothing is cut with a loose fit to accommodate diapers and a toddler’s rounded belly.
Generally, a toddler size chart follows these guidelines:
A child that wears 2T is around 33-35 inches tall and weighs between 24-28 pounds.
For 3T, the typical height range is about 36-39 inches, with a weight of 28-32 pounds.
Size 4T is for children approximately 39-42 inches tall, weighing around 33-36 pounds.
These sizes are meant to provide a comfortable fit for toddlers as they transition out of baby sizes and continue to grow rapidly. Chest width and body length are included in the toddler size guide, measured when the garment is laid flat.
